(Albuquerque, NM) The Indiana Invaders' Drake Sterling will compete in the opening round of the Men's 800m in the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Sterling will contend for a spot in Sunday's 800 meter final with the opening round scheduled to begin at 4:35 PM (MST).  Sterling is making his second appearance at the USA National Indoor Championships after having finished 12th in 2012.

Universal Sports will televise events Saturday from 6 to 8 PM (EST).

Coach Greg Harger said, "Sterling is ready to compete and looking forward to the opportunity to improve on last year's USA Championship finish". Harger added, "Hundredths of a second typically separate the last three athletes making the final and the first three left out.  For pure spectating the 800 race indoors has great tactical action and yields great excitment. Drake's draw in section one appears to be the strongest section of the three and there is no better way to earn your spot in the finals than taking on the best head up".

The Indiana Invaders, a not-for-profit organization competing at USA National Championships since 1999, provide a resident-based, athlete-centered support system based in Indianapolis, Indiana with 152 USA National Championship Qualifiers since inception.
